Fucccckkkk why did it not occur to me until now that LiDAR includes depth data? I’m gonna stay focused and continue working on what I logged on here to work on, which is stylizing my particles.
I finally moved away from the default particle sprite I’d been using all this time and replaced it with shard meshes created by the master, Keijiro. They’re from his VFX Graph Assets package.
I added angular velocity to them and they look quite beautiful.
Here’s something neat. The screen space lens flare works with my camera feed.
I spent awhile trying to set up a color over distance effect but eventually replaced it with color over life after I couldn’t get the desired result. Saving this screenshot here, even though it didn’t work, because it feels like it should work and may be a Unity bug.
Keijiro provides, and I consume.
I can use events to trigger single burst VFX effects.
